For all of the eccentric and eclectic Porsche collectors and enthusiasts out there, we've decided that it is about time someone aggregated the best of the best that eBay has to offer in the Porsches-for-sale department. We've tracked down five exciting Porsches for folks to purchase today, including a drop-top stunner, a slow and steady cruiser, a fast and loose high-strung racer, a long-hood with a fancy plastic rear window, another German tuner slant-nose job, and a great candidate for restoration at a really good price. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others…

In a case of Manifest Destiny, the voracity of which was generally reserved for American colonial settlers, a Montreal-based Canadian racing internet forum has apparently claimed a stricken Porsche 924 as their own after a member found it languishing in the wilderness. Without questioning who the car belonged too, whose land it was on, or what the legal ramifications of towing the car out of the underbrush without permission might be, the members of the forum thought it a good idea to plan out a kickstarter campaign to restore the car and turn it into a community track rat. The would-be…

The last we had heard, he and former Chief Financial Officer Holger Haerter (right) had avoided a trial in April due to a lack of evidence. That's the question which industry pundits are asking - and customers may soon as well - as the German automaker emerges from the fringe in pursuit of larger volumes. A dozen years ago Porsche was barely selling over 50,000 units per annum. In a sales surge that has gathered pace as fast as a 911 Turbo, however, it was already hovering around the 100,000-unit mark a few years later. Last year it sold over 160,000, and has targeted 200,000 units by 2018. But it may not even take that long. Automotive News…

Air makes things slower. And air makes things faster: Aerodynamics is both a curse and a blessing for sports cars. The keyword here: downforce. Throughout its 50 years of development, the basic form of the Porsche 911 has been a perfect aerodynamic example of the latter. At the same time, the 911 provides an impressive lesson on how it is possible to continue to aerodynamically refine a car’s basic form without losing key aspects of its distinctive design and brand recognition. The aerodynamic contour of the Porsche 911 stems from the 1950s and is a legacy of the Porsche 356. In those days,…
