We've already shown you some onboards from Patrick Long, Leh Keen, and Bruce Canepa, so how about Gunnar Jeannette driving the Revs Institute's Gulf-liveried Porsche 908/3? The track doesn't change from those other videos we've shown, but the surrounding cars do, and the shift points do, and the engine sound does. Oh man, that Porsche flat-8 engine is sublime. If you can listen to that without welling up with tears just a little bit, you might be dead inside. The best part of this video is just how many camera angles they've…

So far, the Boxster has been happy to simply rack up the miles and keep things rocking along. It's an excellent Porsche, and we aim to make it just a little bit more excellent with each improvement. Vehicle = Cayenne S 2009. TipTronic (957)   My Wife was driving the car today, and whilst she was parking (shifted from Drive into Reverse) the engine stalled. This has never happened before.   She says a headlight warning came up at the same time. She was able to start the car again immediately without any problem.   The car drove afterwards without any problem. • Does the three spoke steering wheel suffer from the same bushing/conta

    29 Aug 2015 | 9:54 pm
So the bushings on my 996's steering wheel are starting to fail, leading to the occasional connector contact being made despite no force being applied. This is a common problem. I did search. It can be fixed easy enough and I found posts explaining workarounds. But unfortunately I was unable to come up with a specific answer to this question - "Does the three spoke steering wheel suffer from the same bushing/contact problem as the four spoke?"   Thanks!
  • engine whine sound at 70 mph

    29 Aug 2015 | 10:07 am
Hi,   I rarely have issues with my car, but when i do, i refer to these forums because you all are very knowledgable.  My car is a 2008 Carrera 4S coupe with 43K miles.  Here's my issue...   When I drive on the highway, and hit 70 mph, i get a whine/high pitched sound from the engine.  It seems to goes away at about 83 mph (perhaps the exhaust sound drowns this out at this point).  This happens at about half throttle at a slow acceleration.  The sound goes away too when i take my foot of the gas pedal, so I don't think its a wheel bearing issue.  Just…

    29 Aug 2015 | 6:00 am
Been meaning to ask this for a while cause I couldn't find it on the forum.  Does anyone else's car sound better, more raspy exhaust, when first started?  I can even hear the turbos better.  I think it has to do with a tube drawing extra air from the air cleaner box.   My normally aspirated 996 had an air box modification that made that car sound more throaty is there anything for the TT?   Thanks for any info.
